Identity Document Policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026
This policy explains how Tamarind uses identity information and documents for motorbike rental eligibility and operational safety.
Required Checks
- The accepted document categories in the online upload workflow are passport and driver licence.
- Pickup always requires physical identity inspection even when an online account or document upload exists.
- Where a customer declared that they hold a valid motorcycle licence, staff inspect the physical licence at pickup. A no-licence risk acknowledgement is not proof of a licence and does not make otherwise unlawful riding lawful.
- Staff may record document type, review status, expiration, last four characters, or physical-inspection outcome as needed for rental operations.
- Customers must provide truthful identity information and must not submit another person's document without authorization.
Document Uploads
- Identity-document files are private and available only through authorized customer and staff workflows.
- A document may be pending review, accepted, rejected, or require replacement. An upload never replaces the physical inspection at handover.
- Storage keys, signed URLs, provider metadata, and internal review history are not public customer data.
Retention
- An upload that is never completed expires after 60 minutes and is deleted by scheduled cleanup.
- A document replaced by a newer upload of the same type is deleted 30 days after replacement.
- An uploaded document is deleted 365 days after its last update, unless the replacement period above ends sooner.
- Scheduled cleanup removes documents after these periods. An active retention exception for legal, dispute or fraud-prevention purposes can delay automatic deletion of uploaded documents.
- When account deletion is completed, your documents and associated document history are removed without waiting for these periods. Required business records may be preserved or anonymized.
- Scheduled retention cleanup and account-deletion cleanup continue independently of access to document uploads. Disabling uploads does not itself delete stored documents.
