Booking FAQ
Quick answers about booking a motorbike with Tamarind online.
How do bank transfer, Wise and Revolut booking payments work?
When offered after staff approval, bank transfer, Wise or Revolut can pay the exact THB amount of your chosen booking offer. Staff must verify that the money reached our account and record the real transfer reference; initiating a transfer or sending a screenshot is not verified receipt. The money must reach our account before your saved payment deadline. Staff may record an on-time receipt later only while your original booking remains confirmed. Send the reference promptly: if the booking has already been released before verification, it remains cancelled and we arrange return of the transfer. A fresh booking depends on current availability and agreement; money is not automatically moved to it. Late, underpaid, overpaid or wrong-currency transfers require staff reconciliation and an arranged return. They do not automatically secure a booking. There is no new deadline extension for manual transfers. Automated payment-due reminders require a payable online link and the original 24-hour allowance.
Does submitting online confirm my rental?
In the approval-first flow, you send a request and staff review it within 24 hours. Once they approve it, your booking is confirmed and Tamarind provides payment instructions. Your saved payment deadline can be as soon as 1 hour after approval. If the screen instead offers payment at submission, that booking is confirmed only after verified payment, not by a browser success screen.
What do I pay to secure my booking?
You choose one of two options when you book: a THB 1,000 reservation payment (less if your rental and delivery cost less), with the rest due before pickup or delivery, or full prepayment with 5% off the original rental and delivery/collection price. The exact amounts are shown before submission. Initial booking offers currently support THB 20 to THB 150,000; contact Tamarind if your offer is outside that range.
How do I get payment instructions?
Follow the instructions Tamarind provides for your booking. Use an online payment link only when one is supplied. If you have not received details, contact us promptly: the deadline starts at approval, not when instructions arrive, and resending them does not extend it. Payment methods can differ for the initial booking payment, later balance and security deposit.
Will I receive a payment reminder?
Automated payment-due reminders require an original 24-hour payment window and an active online payment link. They are not sent for 1-hour or 3-hour windows. Keep track of your saved deadline even if no reminder arrives; a pickup reminder does not extend it.
Is the security deposit paid online?
It is separate from your booking payment: each motorcycle has its own agreed THB security amount, shown before you send your request. Bring the full refundable security deposit in cash on pickup day. Online Omise holds, when offered, last up to seven days and must cover return plus 24 hours. Rentals too long for an online hold require cash.
How does a card security hold end?
After inspection, staff release the unused hold or record the assessed charge. An unknown online charge is checked before another payment; this does not add late fees to your saved return assessment. Your bank may take several days to restore the card balance. A debit-card hold blocks your own money. If a late bike's hold is nearing its end, staff may take a safety charge as refundable security; the unused part is refunded in full, with Tamarind paying the card fee.
Will extending my rental need another hold?
If the new dates or security amount exceed your uncharged hold, the new hold must be confirmed before the old one is released. Your card briefly needs room for both. You may instead use cash or another card. Online holds require a fresh customer approval; there is no automatic extension or renewal. Security already captured by a safety charge does not expire; a deliberate full-cash replacement leaves its refund separately owed until paid.
Do the online policies replace the rental agreement?
No. The online policies cover the website, booking request, payment, privacy, deposits, damage, and identity-document handling. You complete and sign the separate paper rental agreement before the motorbike is handed over.
What identity documents do I need?
Bring your original passport or another accepted government identity document and, if you declared that you hold one, your physical motorcycle licence. Any upload is for advance review only and never replaces the in-person identity check.
Can Tamarind deliver and collect the motorbike?
Choose the available pickup, delivery, return, or collection options in the booking flow. Any fee is calculated from the locations and current delivery policy shown before submission.
What if I need to cancel or change something?
Cancel from My bookings, or message us. If we receive your cancellation more than 72 hours before pickup, we keep up to THB 1,000 of your rental payment and refund the rest. Within 72 hours of pickup, we keep your rental payment. A refund we already owe you from an earlier booking change is still paid. You can change your dates once, more than 72 hours before pickup, if a bike is free; the new dates use current prices.
What happens if I do not arrive?
If you haven't contacted us, staff may mark a no-show three hours after your pickup time. We keep your rental payment and the bike becomes available to others. A refund we already owe you from an earlier booking change is still paid. Arriving later does not bring the booking back or extend your return time.
How are late return and fuel charges calculated?
Late return: the first 30 minutes are free, then THB 200 for each started hour, up to the bike's one-day price for each 24 hours late. Fuel: bring the bike back with the fuel level you received it with. Each missing mark on the fuel gauge costs THB 150.
